The Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc. (CUAHSI) is soliciting applications from graduate students who wish to participate in the 2022 National Water Center (NWC) Summer Institute under the auspices of the NWC's Innovators Program. The Summer Institute (SI) will take place from June 13 - July 29, 2022 at the National Water Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Student research fellows will work on projects designed to support NWC goals related to water prediction in the U.S.
Applications will be accepted from current and incoming graduate students enrolled in a university program in the US. Applicants who are not US citizens will need to report their visa status. CUAHSI will support all costs associated with travel to and from the NWC, meals, and housing during the Summer Institute.
Student applications will be evaluated based on student background, knowledge, training, and experience, as well as the degree to which students have the skills and the abilities to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal participant will be collaborative, curious, and a rapid learner.

- Application Form (submitted online)
- Statement of Interest. A brief statement that explains why you would like to participate in the SI, how the SI will contribute to your career development, and the contributions that you can make to the SI. The Statement of Interest should be not exceed one page.
- CV. A one to two-pagetwo page CV detailing your education, experience, and current research focus.
- Transcript. Please upload a recent copy of your transcript. Transcript need not be official.
- Letter of Endorsement from your faculty advisor. The letter should endorse the student's participation in the Summer Institute, explain why the student is qualified to participate in the SI, and describe how the experience will benefit the student. The letter should be signed by the student's advisor and uploaded as a pdf file. If a students advisor would rather submit the letter themselves, contact jmasterman@cuahsi.org
