CUAHSI is seeking graduate student fellows to join the 2024 National Water Center Innovators Program Summer Institute to be held June 10 - July 26, 2024. As a Fellow, you will work with peers from across the country on research projects that advance water prediction. Students work in teams to complete a research project related to a larger topic or theme. Possible research themes for the 2024 Summer Institute are listed below. If you are interested in growing your professional skillset and network while contributing to cutting-edge research in water prediction, we encourage you to apply.
Applications will be considered from current and incoming graduate students enrolled in a university program in the US. We seek SI fellows from a wide range of institutions and may place limits on the number of students accepted from each institution.

A successful applicant will demonstrate:
- They are an active member of the scientific community and have experience doing scientific research, especially within a topic relevant to the Summer Institute Themes.
- A strong desire to contribute to advancing water prediction.
- A baseline of technical skills and experience in skills that contribute to water prediction including any of the following: Coding and programming languages, Github, Docker, GIS and geospatial analysis, Models (hydrologic, hydraulic, coastal, groundwater, statistical, etc.), AI or Machine Learning applications in Hydrology.
- The ability to work alongside teammates in a fast-paced environment to accomplish complex tasks.
- Enthusiasm for collaborative science and working with peers across institutions.
- Openness to gaining experience and new skills that may increase the breadth of their research scope, and broaden their skillset beyond their current research focus.

- CV. A one to two-page CV detailing your education, experience, and current research focus.
- Transcript. Please upload a recent copy of your transcript. Transcripts need not be official.
- Letter of Endorsement from your faculty advisor. The letter should endorse the student's participation in the Summer Institute, explain why the student is qualified to participate in the SI, and describe how the experience will benefit the student. The letter should be signed by the student's advisor and uploaded as a pdf file, or advisors may also submit the letter of endorsement directly via this link.
