CUAHSI is seeking graduate student fellows to join the 2025 National Water Center Innovators Program Summer Institute to be held June 9 - July 25, 2025. As a Fellow, you will work with peers from across the country on research projects that advance water prediction. Students work in teams to complete a research project related to a larger topic or theme. If you are interested in growing your professional skillset and network while contributing to cutting-edge research in water prediction, we encourage you to apply.
Applications will be considered from current and incoming graduate students enrolled in a US university. We seek SI fellows from a wide range of institutions.

A successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Experience conducting scientific research, especially within a topic relevant to the Summer Institute Themes.
- A strong desire to contribute to advancing water prediction.
- A baseline of technical skills and experience in skills that contribute to water prediction including any of the following: Coding and programming languages, Github, Docker, GIS and geospatial analysis, Models (hydrologic, hydraulic, coastal, groundwater, statistical, etc.), AI or Machine Learning applications in Hydrology.
- The ability to work alongside teammates in a fast-paced environment to accomplish complex tasks.
- Enthusiasm for collaborative science and working with peers across institutions.
- Openness to gaining experience and new skills that may increase the breadth of their research scope, and broaden their skillset beyond their current research focus.
