  • Apply to participate in the CUAHSI and SINTER hosted Snow Measurement Field School, to be held in Granby, CO, January 5-9, 2026 with support from NASA.

    This course provides hands-on experience with snow measurements, to aid in snow measurement research objectives and for interpreting snow measurements.

    The course is aimed at graduate students, post-docs, professionals and senior scientists, modelers, and remote sensors who will make snow measurements or use snowpack data as part of their research. Priority will be given to graduate students and early career researchers, but undergraduates may participate pending availability. There are no required prerequisites, but students should be physically able to spend days outside being active in the snow. 

    A successful applicant will 

    • demonstrate how this training will have a significant impact on their ability to achieve their educational, research, or career goals.
    • show interest in learning from and engaging in the snow science community
    • show a willingness to share what they learn with others

    The course will be hosted in Granby, CO. Lodging and meals will be included in the registration price. You must apply to be considered for this program. Travel support and registration reimbursement may be available for accepted students. You may save and return to complete your application. 

    This has been a very popular program, and space is limited. Program organizers will review applications, and applicants will be notified of their status by Early November.

    Completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Review of applications will begin on September 15, 2025. The final date to submit applications is September 25, 2025.
